Alexa Routines

Routines are a simple way to perform one or more actions by either voice, time of day, or an event (i.e., doorbell press or motion detection).

Create a Routine

For information on how to create a routine in the Alexa app, visit Amazon's Alexa Routines documentation.

When you enable the Blink SmartHome Alexa skill, you can use several Blink-specific triggers and actions in Alexa routines.

Motion detection: Trigger a routine when motion is detected from one of your cameras.
Doorbell press: Trigger a routine when someone presses your Blink Video Doorbell.

Light on/off: Turn your floodlight on or off in a routine.
Arm system: Arm your Blink system(s) in a routine.

Note: You cannot disarm your Blink system from a routine.

Example Routines

You can create your own routines from scratch, only limited by your own imagination. Here are three examples of routines to get you thinking about how you would like to use routines.
