If your camera images, thumbnails, motion clips and Live View aren’t showing up in colour, the Night Vision Control is probably on. When Night Vision is on, an infrared (IR) LED shines in a spectrum outside the visible light spectrum. IR cameras register heat, which shows up in video as shades of white.
When the Night Vision Control setting is ‘Auto’, your camera will automatically switch from IR mode to visible-light mode when the scene gets bright enough. If your camera location isn’t bright enough, the camera stays in IR mode.
Turning the Night Vision Control setting off stops the IR LED from turning on, and the camera is in visible-light mode only.
