How to Reset Your Sync Module

Before resetting your Sync Module, follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in the Sync Module Troubleshooting article. If the issue persists, proceed with resetting your Sync Module.

Sync Module XR

The Sync Module XR includes a reset button located on the back of the device, as shown below.

To reset the Sync Module XR

Press and hold the reset button until you see a solid red LED, then release. A blinking blue and a solid green LED will appear, indicating that the Sync Module is now ready to be set up.

Sync Module 2

The Sync Module 2 includes a reset button located on the back of the device, as shown below (#3).

Sync Module 2 Components

  1. QR Code of the Device Serial Number (DSN)
  2. USB 2.0 Type-A port for USB flash drive (for Local Storage)
  3. Reset Button
  4. Power port (standard mini-USB 5v 1A)

To reset the Sync Module 2:

Press and hold the reset button on the Sync Module 2 with a small, pointed object for five seconds. Release the button once the red LED begins to flash. A blinking blue and a solid green LED will appear, indicating that the Sync Module 2 is now ready to be set up.

Sync Module (1st Gen)

The Sync Module (1st Gen) includes a reset button located next to the USB port on the device.

To reset the Sync Module (1st Gen):

Use a small, thin object like a paperclip or a toothpick to press the reset button until you feel a click.
