How to Install Your Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount

Important: If you've already installed your Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount, refer to the setup guide to continue.

This guide walks you through the complete installation and mounting of your Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. Please perform each step in the order listed. All safety warnings must be strictly observed, as working with electrical wiring requires proper precautions.

The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount is designed to replace an existing outdoor light fixture. Before starting the installation, review the following requirements:

The mount must be connected to a 4-inch round UL-listed weatherproof electrical junction box (US) or a hardwired electrical connection (EU).
The installation requires turning off power at the circuit breaker. If you are not comfortable working with electrical wiring, get help from a licensed professional.
If you don't already have the Blink app, download it, and then, create or sign in to your Blink account.
Have a screwdriver ready:
- US: Phillips-head screwdriver
- EU: Phillips-head and flathead screwdrivers (flathead is for securing the mounting bracket to the junction box)

Getting started

Note: First, download the Blink app and create or sign in to your Blink account.

From the Home screen, tap the + (plus) icon in the upper right corner.
Select Wired Floodlight Camera Mount from the list of available devices.
When asked if your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount is installed, tap No, I Need To Install It.
Follow the on-screen prompts until the app instructs you to begin the wiring process (see Wiring Installation below).

What you'll need (US)

Wire nuts (included in bag "H")

Step 1: Before you continue, turn off power at the breaker
This is essential to keeping you and your new Blink product safe. If you're not sure which breaker to turn off, turn off the master breaker for your home, or contact a licensed professional. If you are ready to proceed, tap Power is Off.

Step 2: Get ready for installation
Unpack the contents of your box: screws, metal mounting bracket, nylon strap, and Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. If your package includes a camera, unpack that as well. Tap Continue.

Step 3: Remove your existing floodlight and mounting bracket
If you're not replacing an existing floodlight, tap I'm Not Replacing A Floodlight to skip this section.

For the best motion detection, Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount should be installed 9 feet above the ground. Remove your existing floodlight mounting bracket. Uninstall according to the manufacturer's instructions. Be sure to remove any wires, wire nuts, screws, and hardware that came with the device. Tap Continue.

Note: This device is designed to replace an existing floodlight, so it must be installed in a 4-inch round UL-listed weatherproof junction box. If you don't have one, get help from a licensed professional. Tap Exit Setup to return to the Home Screen.

Step 4: Inspect the wires in your junction box
You should see: one black wire (hot/live), one white wire (neutral), and one bare metal or green wire (ground). Once confirmed, tap Continue.

⚠ Electrical Shock Warning: If you can't identify your wires, tap My Wires Look Different. If these wires are not present, if you have any difficulty identifying or connecting them, or if you are uncomfortable or unsure of how to complete these steps, consult a licensed professional to complete the installation. If you are ready to proceed, tap I Identified the Wires. If not, tap Quit For Now to return to the Home Screen.

Step 5: Install the new mounting bracket

Using a handheld screwdriver, install the included mounting bracket with the side marked "Front" facing you.
Screw it down across two opposing holes on your junction box.
Ensure the mounting bracket is secure to the junction box before moving to the next step. Tap Continue.

Screw selection guide

Bag A: Standard screws that fit most metal electrical boxes.
Bags B & C: Longer screws for recessed metal electrical boxes.
Bags D, E, & F: Best for plastic electrical boxes with smaller screw holes.

Step 6: Install the new mounting plate

Using the wing nut in bag "G", secure the mounting plate onto the mounting bracket.
Position the bracket so the "UP" arrow is facing up (for wall installation) or toward the area of interest (for ceiling installation). Tap Continue.

Step 7: Hang your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount

Locate the nylon strap on the back of the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount.
Loop the buckle at the end over the hook on the mounting plate.
Make sure that the buckle and hook are secure before releasing the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. Tap Continue.

Step 8: Connect the wires from your junction box
With the power still turned off at the breaker:

Use a wire nut from the bag marked "H" to connect the ground wire coming from the junction box to the green ground wire on the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount.
Use another wire nut from the bag marked "H" to connect the neutral wire coming from the junction box to the white neutral wire on the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount.
Use another wire nut from the bag marked "H" to connect the hot wire coming from the junction box to the black hot wire on the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount.
Give all three wires a gentle tug to make sure they are secure. Tap Continue.

Step 9: Attach your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount

Line up the center hole with the threaded post from the mounting bracket and slide the fixture onto the post.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to install the threaded nut marked "I" onto the post.
Insert the silicone plug "J" into the screw hole.
Use appropriate outdoor silicone sealant (not included) to seal between the light fixture base and the wall. Tap Continue.

Step 10: Restore power at the breaker
It may take a moment for your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount to power on. It will be ready when the green light is illuminated and the blue light is blinking slowly. Tap I've Turned Power On.

You are now ready to pair an eligible camera or install a new one.

EU wiring instructions

What you'll need (EU)

Flathead screwdriver (for terminal block connections)

These instructions are for informational purposes only. Working with electricity can be dangerous unless proper safety precautions are taken. If you are uncomfortable or inexperienced with the processes and tools described in this manual, consult a licensed professional. Professional installation is recommended.

Step 2: Get ready for installation
Unpack the contents of your box: screws, mounting bracket, and Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. If your package includes a camera, unpack that as well. Tap Continue.

Step 3: Remove your existing floodlight and mounting bracket
Uninstall according to the manufacturer's instructions. Be sure to remove any wires, screws, and hardware that came with the device. Tap Continue.

Note: If you're not replacing an existing floodlight, this device requires a hardwired electrical connection. If you don't have one at your install location, get help from a licensed electrician.

Step 4: Inspect the wires in your junction box

You should see: one brown wire (live), one blue wire (neutral), and one yellow/green wire (ground/earth). Once confirmed, tap Continue.

⚠ Electrical Safety Warning - Risk of electric shock and injury
If your junction box doesn't include one brown wire, one blue wire, and one yellow/green wire, a licensed electrician must finish this install. If you can't easily identify the wires coming out of your electrical box, have difficulty or are uncomfortable in any way connecting them, consult a licensed professional.

Step 5: Install the mounting bracket

Route the electrical wires from your home through the pass-through hole in the mounting bracket.
Position the bracket so the "UP" arrow is facing up (for wall installation) or toward the area of interest (for ceiling installation).
Secure the bracket to the wall using the provided screws and anchors in bags "A" and "B".
Insert the screw caps in bag "C" before moving to the next step. Tap Continue.

Step 6: Connect the wires from your junction box to the mounting bracket
With the power still turned off at the fuse box:

Loosen the pressing plate.
Insert each wire into its corresponding terminal and tug individually to ensure they are secure.
Tighten the pressing plate over the cable insulation. Tap Continue.

⚠ Electrical Shock Warning: The pressing plate should be tightened over the cable insulation, not over the individual wires.

Step 7: Hang your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount

Locate the nylon strap on the back of the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount.
Loop the buckle at the end over the hook on the mounting plate.
Make sure that the buckle and hook are secure before releasing the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. Tap Continue.

Step 8: Connect the wires from your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount

With power still turned off at the fuse box:

Slide the earth wire (yellow/green) into the centre bay on the top of the terminal block and tighten with a flathead screwdriver.
Slide the line wire (brown) into the bay on the top of the terminal block marked "L" and tighten with a flathead screwdriver.
Slide the neutral wire (blue) into the bay marked "N" and tighten with a flathead screwdriver.
Tug each wire individually to make sure they are secure. Tap Continue.

Step 9: Attach your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount

Route the wires from the light fixture along the right side of the mounting plate.
Slide the camera onto the mounting bracket, but do not force it. Check that the cables are not caught.
Line up the center hole with the threaded post from the mounting bracket and slide the fixture onto the post.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to install the threaded nut marked "C" onto the post.
Insert the silicone plug "D" into the screw hole.
Use appropriate outdoor silicone caulk (not included) to seal between the light fixture base and the wall. Tap Continue.

You are now ready to pair an eligible device or install a new one.

Ceiling installation

If you are installing on a ceiling, these steps replace the standard mounting procedure above. Tap Install on a Ceiling and follow these steps:

Secure the mount to the ceiling:
Align your compatible camera or Blink Arc mount with the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount and press firmly until it clicks into place. Tap Continue.
Adjust the light heads and camera to your desired position. Tap Finish to return to the Home Screen.

Once your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount is installed, refer to the camera setup guide to continue.
