Can I install it myself or do I need an electrician?

Warning - Risk of electric shock: To avoid possible injuries, always turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation.

The installation is similar to replacing a standard outdoor light fixture. Most homeowners can complete it themselves if they are comfortable working with electrical wiring.

Consider hiring a licensed electrician if:

  • You are unfamiliar with electrical wiring
  • Your junction box does not have the required wiring (hot, neutral, and ground)
  • Local codes require professional installation for hardwired fixtures

EU/UK/ANZ customers: Professional installation is recommended. Electrical regulations vary by country, and a qualified electrician can ensure your installation meets local wiring standards.

  • Neutral: Typically, white (US) or blue (EU/UK)
  • Ground: Typically, green or bare copper (US) or green/yellow (EU/UK)
