Multi-Client Live View

With Multi-Client Live View, you can watch live view video from a single camera, on multiple devices (up to five) that share the same Blink account simultaneously. Any combination of mobile and live view capable Alexa devices can use this feature. Multi-Client Live View works only with Mini 2, Outdoor 4, Wired Floodlight Camera, Indoor and Outdoor (3rd Gen), Mini and Video Doorbell devices.

Multi-Client Live View has advantages when a Blink account is shared among multiple devices in a household. For example, if a family member isn't home, they can watch a live view from a doorbell press notification, at the same time another family member views it at home. Another example is if a package is delivered to a house when no one's home, multiple household members can remotely watch the live view that's triggered from the delivery.

How it works

Multi-Client Live View also allows you to use Alexa Doorbell Auto Live View, which is a feature that automatically presents a Live View on Echo Show or Fire TV devices when a doorbell is pressed, without the need to speak an utterance. This feature works in combination with doorbell press notifications in the Blink app, so you can have live views simultaneously on both Alexa and mobile devices.

Features such as Pan-Tilt controls, lights and siren on and off on floodlight devices, will be available to all connected devices at once, with those actions processed in the order they are received.

With two-way audio, only one device will be able to speak at a time. While all audio will be including in a saved video clip, each device will only hear audio from the camera used during a multi-client live view session, and not from other devices.

Note: If a siren is turned on by a user while any two-way talk is in progress, the siren will not activate since only one sound can play from a camera at a time. In this case a Speaker Inactive message will display with instructions to please try again later.

When there's a cloud storage option for an account, any mobile device watching a Live View can save it by tapping the Save button tap. Once a Live View is saved, all devices display a "Live View Session Will Be Saved" banner. If a different person logged into the account tries to save or discard the Live View, after it has already been saved by someone else, they will see a messaging explaining another device has control of save or discard.

When accounts are covered under a Blink Subscription Plan or trial, Extended Live View can be turned on or off by any mobile device streaming that Live View from an eligible camera (ex. Wired Floodlight, Mini and Mini 2). In this case, all mobile devices will see the "Extended Live View Turned On or Off" banners in their app.

Note: Multi-Client Live View is available when you have a current version of the Blink app installed. The latest version of the Blink app is always available in your app store.
