This article applies to all Sync Modules. To replace your existing Sync Module, ensure you are using version 38.0 or higher of the Blink app.
To replace your existing Sync Module with Sync Module XR:
- From the Home Screen, tap the + in the upper-right corner.
- Tap Sync Module.
- Scan the QR code on the back of the Sync Module, or enter the serial number manually. If a message appears stating that your Sync Module is already registered, refer to deleting and re-adding a Sync Module.
- Select the system your current Sync Module is connected to. A message will appear stating that all cameras in your current system will move to the new Sync Module. Tap Yes to confirm replacing your existing Sync Module.
- Plug in your Sync Module and wait for a blinking blue and a solid green LED. Tap Discover Device. If the LEDs do not display this pattern, you may need to reset the Sync Module.
- Tap Join / Connect to connect to the Sync Module’s temporary Wi-Fi network ‘BLINK-xxxx,’ where ‘xxxx’ represents the last four digits of your Sync Module’s serial number.
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks, enter your Wi-Fi password, and tap Join. The Sync Module may perform a firmware update, which can take a few moments. If your network does not appear, tap Refresh List.
- Once your Sync Module XR has been successfully added, a conformation message will appear. Tap Done.
After adding Sync Module XR, an “Extended Range Available” banner will appear on the Home Screen if any Outdoor 4 cameras are connected, indicating that your camera supports Extended Range. Tap the banner to set up Extended Range, or dismiss it to adjust your camera's network later under device settings. Learn more about Extended Range.
