Getting started
Before setting up your Spotlight 2K+, make sure you have the latest version of the Blink app downloaded on your device. The Blink app is available on iOS 16.4+, Android 10+, and Fire OS 8+. You'll also need a Blink account and a compatible Blink Sync Module connected to your account. Your Blink Spotlight 2K+ is compatible with all versions of Blink Sync Modules. Note that the Spotlight 2K+ does not support Extended Range (XR+).
If you already have a Sync Module set up on your Blink account, you can skip the next section and go directly to "Setting up your Spotlight 2K+."
Setting up a Sync Module
If you are replacing a Sync Module with a new one, refer to replacing your existing Sync Module.
If setting up multiple cameras and Sync Modules, place each Sync Module in a separate room with at least one wall between them.

- From the Blink app Home Screen, tap the plus + icon in the upper-right corner.
- Tap Sync Module.
- Scan the QR code on the back of the device or tap Enter Serial Manually.
- Choose an existing system or create a new one with a unique name, then tap Continue.
- When the Sync Module displays a blinking blue and solid green LED, tap Discover Device.
- If a different light pattern is displayed, refer to Understanding Sync Module LED Lights for troubleshooting steps.
- When prompted, tap Join / Connect to join the temporary Wi-Fi network 'BLINK-[PASSWORD].'
- Select your local Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and tap Join. If needed, wait for firmware updates.
- If your network doesn't appear, tap Refresh List.
- When setup is complete, tap Done.

Once your Sync Module is added, you can proceed with setting up your Spotlight 2K+ in the Blink app.
- From the Blink app Home Screen, tap the plus + icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Spotlight Camera.
- During setup, be sure to keep your new Spotlight Camera close to your Sync Module. This will allow for easy syncing. Tap Continue.

- Install the four included Energizer Lithium AA (non-rechargeable) batteries, making sure to align them with the + and - symbols marked inside. Tap Continue.
- Locate the QR code and device serial number (DSN) on the back of the camera (between the battery compartments, behind the back panel) and tap Scan QR Code. Scan the QR code or tap Enter Serial Manually to enter the device serial number.
- Choose a system for your Spotlight Cam 2K that includes a Sync Module and tap Continue. A system is a group of cameras that can be armed, disarmed, and scheduled together.

- When the LED light blinks red on the front of your camera, tap Discover Device.
- If the LED does not blink red after 30 seconds, try replacing the batteries.

- Name your camera by selecting a default option, or tap Custom to enter a unique name. You can change it anytime in Device Settings.
- On the Settings Presets screen, choose the option that works best for you and tap Confirm Preset.
- Performance+: Best for detailed capture: 2K resolution and 5-second clips.
- Battery Efficiency: Optimized for lower battery use: 1080p resolution and 5-second clips.
- Custom: Set your own preferences.
- You can always adjust these later in Device Settings.
- Tap Done to complete setup, or tap Mounting Instructions if you need help mounting your camera now. To mount your camera later, refer to Mounting your Spotlight Cam 2K when ready.
- Replace the back cover of your camera by turning the screw clockwise (right) three times using the angle adapter tool, coin, or large screwdriver until the back cover sits flush with the camera.
Note: The silicone plug covering the USB-C port must always be covered in order for your camera to be weather-resistant.
If you experience issues during setup, try the following.
- Make sure your Sync Module is plugged in, powered on, and showing as online in the Blink app.
- Move the camera closer to the Sync Module and Wi-Fi router during setup. If the LED doesn't blink red, remove and reinsert the batteries.
External power
Your Spotlight 2K+ includes a USB-C port that accepts 5V DC for continuous external power. Spotlight 2K+ is not compatible with accessories from previous generation Blink cameras.
Mounting your Spotlight 2K+
Mounting instructions
Your Spotlight 2K+ camera includes:
- 1 Camera mount
- 1 Mounting kit
- 1 Angle adapter tool (for removing camera cover)
Camera placement
Mount up to 10 feet (3 meters) high, aimed at your target area. Place within range of the Sync Module. Side-to-side movement across the camera's field of view is most easily detected, so position the camera where motion will cross the frame rather than move directly toward it.
Suggested locations: Front door, backyard, driveway, or garage.
To learn more, visit Blink Camera Placement Guidelines.
Wall mounting
Attach the mounting plate to the wall by following these steps:
- Using the provided screws and wall anchors, attach the mounting plate to the wall.
- Once the base is secured, press the Spotlight 2K+ onto the mounting point until it clicks into place.
- Adjust the camera angle by gently swiveling it on the mount to aim at your target area.
Ceiling mounting
Use the angle adapter to mount your Spotlight 2K+ on a ceiling, eave, or ledge by following these steps:
- Attach the mounting plate to the mounting surface using the provided screws.
- Attach the angle adapter to the back of the camera until it clicks.
- Snap the angle adapter onto the mount until it clicks.
- Adjust the camera's angle by gently swiveling it on the mount to aim at your target area.
When your camera is mounted, open the Blink app and create a thumbnail or enter Live View to confirm the camera is aimed correctly. Adjust the angle as needed until you are satisfied with the field of view.
After mounting, visit your motion detection settings and activity zones in the Blink app to fine-tune your alerts and reduce unnecessary notifications.
Important: Spotlight 2K+ is weather-resistant (IP65 rated) only when the back cover is securely fastened and the silicone plug covering the USB-C port is fully seated. After mounting, confirm the back cover sits flush with the camera and the silicone plug is in place.
DeleteUsing the Spotlight
Your Spotlight 2K+ features a built-in spotlight that provides illumination and night vision. The spotlight brightness is adjustable on a scale of 1 to 10, ranging from 40 lumens (10%) to 400 lumens (100%), with a default setting of 200 lumens (50%) at 5000K color temperature.
There are three ways to activate the spotlight.
- First, the spotlight can be triggered automatically when motion is detected, staying on for the duration of the motion event.
- Second, you can turn the spotlight on from the Home Screen in the Blink app, where it will stay on for 10 seconds by default.
- Third, you can manually toggle the spotlight on or off during a Live View session, where it will remain on for the duration of the session.
You can adjust spotlight settings in Device Settings > Lighting, where you can change the brightness level, toggle motion activation on or off, and adjust the daylight sensitivity setting to control at what ambient light level the spotlight will activate. Increasing the brightness will use more battery, so keep this in mind when adjusting.
Using the Siren
Your Spotlight 2K+ includes a built-in siren that can be activated during a Live View session. To sound the siren, tap the siren button in the Live View controls and confirm when prompted. The siren is loud and your neighbors may hear it. It will sound for 30 seconds and then stop automatically. You can also turn the siren off early by tapping the siren button again.
When the siren is activated, the spotlight will automatically switch to full brightness. Note that two-way talk is turned off while the siren is sounding.
