What is Sync Module Core?

Sync Module Core is a hub that connects to your Wi-Fi network, relaying commands and network details between your cameras and Blink servers.

Where is Sync Module Core available?

Sync Module Core is only available with the purchase of an Outdoor 4 bundle, sold in Europe and the United Kingdom, including on Amazon and select retailers. Sync Module Core is not sold separately.

Is Sync Module Core weather-resistant?

No, Sync Module Core is not weather-resistant. Sync Modules are designed for indoor use and should be kept in a dry, protected area to ensure optimal performance. Sync Module Core operates between 32°F and 104°F (0°C and 40°C).

What storage options are available for Sync Module Core?

Sync Module Core supports Cloud Storage with an active Blink Subscription Plan or trial. Local Storage and Clip Backup are not available for Sync Module Core.

Blink Subscription Plans enable features including unlimited cloud video recording, 30-day unlimited Cloud Storage, Live View recording, Extended Live View (available on Mini cameras), Photo Capture (available on Mini 2, Outdoor 4, Video Doorbell and Indoor and Outdoor (3rd Gen) cameras), Person Detection (available on Mini 2, and Outdoor 4), and Blink Moments.

Usage and compatibility

Is Sync Module Core compatible with all Blink cameras? 

Yes, Sync Module Core is compatible with all Blink cameras. Not all Blink cameras require a Sync Module.

A Sync Module is required for:

  • Outdoor 4
  • Outdoor & Indoor (3rd Gen)
  • XT2
  • XT
  • Indoor (1st Gen)

A Sync Module is optional for:

  • Blink Wired Floodlight
  • Video Doorbell (Without a Sync Module, doorbell enters Event Response mode.)
  • Mini cameras

These devices can create and manage their own systems, with the option to add a Sync Module for added functionality. Learn more about Sync Module requirements.

How many cameras does Sync Module Core support?

Sync Module Core supports up to 10 cameras in a single system. To add additional cameras, create another system with a separate Sync Module. Learn more about managing multiple Blink systems on one account.

What is the maximum distance Sync Module Core can communicate with cameras?

Setup and configuration

If I have a Sync Module Core, do I need a Wi-Fi connection?

Yes, a Wi-Fi connection is required for Sync Module Core. Learn more about Blink Wi-Fi and Network requirements.

What is the USB-C port used for?

Sync Module Core uses a USB Type-C port for power only and is not for data transfer. The other end of the cable should be plugged into a USB Type-A compatible power adapter that supports 5V 1A.

Where can I find the QR code and Device Serial Number (DSN)?

The QR code and Device Serial Number (DSN) are located on a sticker on the back of your Sync Module Core. You can either scan the QR code with your mobile device or enter the DSN manually to add Sync Module Core to your Blink account. Learn how to set up Sync Module Core.
