Blink Outdoor 4 Setup Guide

Blink Outdoor 4 is a battery-powered camera that provides 1080p HD video, two-way audio, and on-demand live view in the Blink mobile app. The Outdoor 4 features improved low-light vision, enhanced motion detection, Alexa integration, Person Detection (with a Blink Subscription Plan), and Extended Range when paired with a Sync Module XR*.

The Outdoor 4 offers the following enhancements over our Outdoor (3rd Gen) camera:

  • Wider Viewing Angle: Increased 143° field of view.
  • Improved Image Quality: Improved image quality and low-light performance.
  • Quick Motion Alerts: Dual-zone motion detection alerts.
  • Reduced Notifications: Minimize unwanted motion notifications using Person Detection and CV technology.
  • Extended Range: When paired with the Sync Module XR, the Outdoor 4 camera supports Extended Range*, allowing you to place your camera farther away from the Sync Module.

Setting up your Outdoor 4

If you're new to Blink, we're here to help you get started. Begin by downloading the Blink app and creating your account

Before setting up your Outdoor 4 camera, make sure you have a Sync Module set up and connected to your account. If you don’t have a Sync Module set up yet, use one of the following setup guides:

Once your Sync Module is set up, you can proceed with setting up your Outdoor 4 camera.

  1. From the Home Screen, tap the + icon in the upper right corner.
  2. From the Add Device screen, select Wireless Cameras.
  3. Either scan the QR code on the inside of the back cover of the camera or tap Enter Serial Manually. Learn more about how to remove the back cover of your Outdoor 4.
  4. Once the serial number is recognized, a list of available systems will be displayed. Select the system you want to add the camera to and tap Continue.
    • If you are adding the Outdoor 4 camera to a Sync Module XR, a message will appear under the system name indicating that it is Extended Range capable.
  5. From the Adding Camera screen, you will see a message saying "Camera added successfully." Tap Done.
  6. If you are adding the camera to a Sync Module XR, you will see the Network Selection screen. Choose your camera's network: Wi-Fi, Extended Range (XR), or Extended Range Plus (XR+), then tap Save. Learn more about Extended Range.
