
This guide walks you through setting up and pairing a compatible USB-C Blink camera with your Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. Before setting up a camera, confirm the following prerequisites are met:
- The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera Mount is fully installed and receiving power.
- You have downloaded the Blink app and are signed into your Blink account.
- Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are available.
- All accessories included with your camera and mount are on hand.
Pairing an existing compatible camera
If you already own a compatible USB-C Blink camera (Blink Mini 2, Blink Mini 2K+,Blink Outdoor 4, or Blink Outdoor 2K+), you can pair it with the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount directly from the app:
- Open the Blink app and tap the + (plus) icon from the Home screen.
- Select Wired Floodlight Camera Mount.
- When asked "Is your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount installed?", tap Yes, It's Installed.
- The app will display a list of eligible devices on your account that are compatible with the mount. Select your desired camera from the list and tap Continue.
Note: If you want to set up a new device instead, or if you see the message "Looks like you don't have any devices in this system that are eligible with this accessory," tap Install New Device and follow the "Installing a new compatible camera" section below. - When prompted, use the included single USB-C cable to connect to your eligible Blink camera, or the dual USB-C cable to connect to your Blink Arc mount. Plug the other end of the cable into your Wired Floodlight Camera Mount. The app will confirm when pairing is successful. Tap Continue.
Important: Remove the batteries from your Outdoor camera. The mount supplies power directly. - Align your compatible camera or Blink Arc mount with the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount and press firmly until it clicks into place. Tap Continue.
- Adjust the light heads and camera to your desired position. Tap Finish to return to the Home Screen.
Installing a new compatible camera
If you don't have an existing compatible camera to pair, you can set up a brand-new device directly from the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount setup flow. Select Install New Device from the pairing screen to add a new compatible device to your account. Choose the camera you're installing below.
Outdoor wireless camera
When you select Install New Device from the pairing screen, the Blink app guides you through adding a new compatible device to your account.
- When the app prompts: "Which device do you want to install?" Select Wireless Cameras (Sync Module required).
- During set up, be sure to keep your new wireless camera close to your Sync Module (within 7 feet) for easy syncing. Tap Continue.
- Use the provided tool (right-angle adapter) to unscrew the center (turn counter-clockwise) and remove the camera's back cover. Tap Continue.
- Install the two included Energizer Lithium AA (non-rechargeable) batteries, making sure to align them with the + and - symbols marked inside. Tap Continue.
- Tap Scan the QR code printed on the device or tap Enter Serial Manually. For help locating either, tap Find QR code and serial number.
- Select the system you want to add your camera to (e.g., Home, Vacation), or tap Create a new system. Tap Continue.
Important: Systems that have reached the storage limit (10 cameras) are shown as unavailable and cannot be selected. Your system must also be disarmed before adding your camera. If your system is armed, tap Disarm when prompted. - When the LED lights blink red on the front of your camera, tap Discover Device.
- Your camera may need a firmware update, which takes a few moments. Once you see a message confirming the camera has been added, tap Continue.
- Name your camera by selecting a default option, or tap Custom to enter a unique name.
- On the Settings Presets screen, choose the option that works best for you (Performance+ or Battery Efficiency) and tap Confirm Preset.
- Put the back cover back on by turning the screw clockwise three times with the included tool (right-angle adapter), coin, or large screwdriver until it sits flush.
- Connect your outdoor wireless camera to the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount using the included USB-C cable, tap Continue, and wait 10 seconds or until the indicator lights turn on. A pop-up notification confirms the connection was successful.
- When "Floodlight connected to your (Camera Name)" appears, tap OK to return to the Home Screen.
Mini camera
When you select Install New Device from the pairing screen, the Blink app guides you through adding a new compatible device to your account.
- When the app prompts "Which device do you want to install?", select Mini Cameras (Always-on wired).
- Scan the QR code printed on the device or tap Enter Serial Manually. For help locating either, tap Find QR code and serial number.
- Select the system you want to add your camera to (e.g., Home, Vacation), or tap Create a new system. Tap Continue.
Important: Systems that have reached the storage limit (10 cameras) are shown as unavailable and cannot be selected. Your system must also be disarmed before adding your camera. If your system is armed, tap Disarm when prompted. - Connect your Mini camera to the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount using the included USB-C cable, tap Next, and wait 10 seconds or until the indicator lights turn on.
- Tap Discover Device and join the 'BLINK-xxxx' Wi-Fi network when prompted. If not discoverable, hold the reset button (bottom of camera) for 30 seconds until the light turns solid red, then try again or tap 'Help! It's not blinking blue' for troubleshooting.
- From the list of available Wi-Fi networks, select your local Wi-Fi network. Enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Join. If your network does not appear, tap Refresh List.
- When "[Device type] added to [System Name]!" appears, tap Done.
- The app prompts: "Give your [device type] a short name." Select a suggested name (Living Room, Garage, Kitchen, Garden) or enter a custom name. Tap Continue to confirm.
- Align your compatible Mini camera with the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount and press firmly until it clicks into place. Tap Continue.
- Adjust the light heads and camera to your desired position. Tap Finish to return to the Home Screen.
Blink Arc
When you select Install New Device from the pairing screen, it guides you through adding a new device to your account.
- When the app prompts "Which device do you want to install?", select Blink Arc (requires two Blink Mini 2 or Mini 2K+ cameras).
- If your cameras are already added to your account, tap Ready to Pair Cameras and skip to the "Pair cameras" section below. If you need to add cameras, tap Add Cameras and follow the steps below:
- Scan the QR code printed on the device or tap Enter Serial Manually. For help locating either, tap Find QR code and serial number.
- Select the system you want to add your camera to (e.g., Home, Vacation), or tap Create a new system. Tap Continue.
Important: Systems that have reached the storage limit (10 cameras) are shown as unavailable and cannot be selected. Your system must also be disarmed before adding your camera. If your system is armed, tap Disarm when prompted. - Slide the camera into a mount slot on the Blink Arc. Using the included dual USB-C cable, connect a camera cable to your camera and the power cable to a power source. Tap Continue.
Important: Do not attach your Mini cameras to your Wired Floodlight Mount until you set up both devices. - Once your device is plugged in, wait for 10 seconds or until the indicator lights turn on.
- Tap Discover Device and join the 'BLINK-xxxx' Wi-Fi network when prompted. If not discoverable, hold the reset button (bottom of camera) for 30 seconds until the light turns solid red, then try again or tap 'Help! It's not blinking blue' for troubleshooting.
- From the list of available Wi-Fi networks, select your local Wi-Fi network. Enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Join. If your network does not appear, tap Refresh List.
- When "[Device type] added to [System Name]!" appears, tap Done.
- The app prompts: "Give your [device type] a short name." Select a suggested name (Living Room, Garage, Kitchen, Garden) or enter a custom name. Tap Continue to confirm.
- Follow steps 2–10 again to add your second Mini camera. When both cameras are added, tap Ready to Pair Cameras on the Blink Arc Setup screen.
Pair cameras
- Select two eligible Mini cameras from the list for panoramic live view, then tap Next.
- Set the camera order. The primary camera's speaker and microphone will be used during live view. Tap Refresh Preview to check the arrangement, then tap Next.
- Connect your Blink Arc to the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount using the power end of the dual USB-C cable. Tap Next and wait 10 seconds or until the indicator lights turn on. A pop-up notification confirms the connection was successful.
- Align your compatible camera or Blink Arc with the Wired Floodlight Camera Mount's mounting point and press firmly until it clicks into place. If installing on a ceiling, tap Mount on Ceiling first. Tap Continue.
- Adjust the light heads and camera as desired, then tap Finish to return to the Home Screen.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue during setup, the Blink app will display one of the following messages:
- Setup failure: "Something went wrong. Please try again." Tap OK to retry.
- Cancel confirmation: "Are you sure you want to cancel?", tap Cancel to return to setup, or Close to exit.
