Spotlight 2K+ includes the same great features as Outdoor 2K+ (2K resolution, IP65 weather resistance, 115° horizontal field of view, two-way audio with noise cancellation, and smart motion detection), with some key additions:
- Built-in spotlight: An adjustable spotlight (up to 400 lumens) enables full-color night vision and serves as a visual deterrent. The default brightness is 200 lumens.
- Built-in siren: A siren can be triggered from Live View to deter unwanted visitors.
- Night vision: With the spotlight on, the camera captures color video even in complete darkness, rather than black-and-white infrared footage.
Note: Spotlight 2K+ uses four AA batteries to support the additional spotlight and siren features while still delivering long-lasting battery life.

Power & battery
Are batteries required for use?
Yes, Spotlight 2K+ is powered by four Energizer AA lithium batteries (1.5V, non-rechargeable). Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries are recommended for optimal performance.
How long do batteries last?
Spotlight 2K+ is designed for long-lasting performance with default settings (1080p resolution, battery efficiency mode). Your actual battery life may vary depending on factors such as frequency of motion triggers, extended live view sessions, extreme temperatures, weak signal connectivity, or higher resolution settings (2K), which will consume more battery.
During setup, you can choose between two presets to match your needs:
- Performance+: 2K resolution with 10-second clips for the sharpest detail.
- Battery Efficiency: 1080p resolution with 5-second clips for extended battery life.
You can always adjust these settings in Device Settings.
Video & camera features
What video resolution options are available?
Spotlight 2K+ records video in up to 2K quality (2560 x 1440), so you'll get a clear, detailed picture with vibrant colors and strong contrast. It has a wide 115° field of view (135° diagonally), so you can see more of what's happening around your home. Video records at up to 24 frames per second for smooth playback. If you'd like to save battery, you can switch to a lower quality setting like 1080p or 720p.
How does Spotlight 2K+ perform in low light?
Spotlight 2K+ offers two night vision modes. With infrared night vision, the camera captures clear black-and-white footage in the dark. When the spotlight is activated, the camera switches to full-color night vision, capturing detailed color video even in complete darkness out to 10 meters (33 feet).
You can set Night Vision to Auto, On, or Off in the Blink app. When the spotlight turns on during a recording or live view, the infrared LEDs automatically turn off to provide the best color image quality. When the spotlight turns off or the timer expires, the infrared LEDs revert to their original Night Vision setting.
How does the spotlight work?
The built-in spotlight can be activated automatically when motion is detected, or manually from the Home Screen or during Live View in the Blink app. It provides adjustable brightness up to 400 lumens (100%), with a default setting of 200 lumens (50%). The spotlight uses a 5000K color temperature for clear, natural-looking illumination.
Spotlight behavior varies depending on how it is activated:
- During Live View: The spotlight stays on for the duration of the live view session and turns off when the session ends.
- After motion detection: The spotlight turns on when video recording starts and turns off when recording ends. A future update will add configurable timers to keep the spotlight on after recording ends.
- From the Home Screen: The spotlight turns on for 10 seconds by default.
You can also adjust the daylight sensitivity setting to control at what ambient light level the spotlight will activate.
Can I adjust the spotlight brightness?
Yes, you can adjust the spotlight brightness from 0 to 400 lm in the Blink app. The default is set to 200 lm (50%), which provides a good balance between color night vision quality and battery life. The app will display a reminder about battery life impact when you increase the brightness above the default.
Does Spotlight 2K+ have a siren?
Yes, Spotlight 2K+ has a built-in siren you can activate right from Live View in the Blink app. When you turn it on, the siren sounds off loud enough to be heard clearly nearby, the spotlight switches to full brightness, and a 30-second countdown starts. The siren will stop on its own after 30 seconds, or you can turn it off early whenever you'd like. Once the siren stops, the spotlight goes back to whatever setting it was on before. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to use two-way talk on that camera while the siren is going, and the camera's reset button is disabled while the siren is active.
Is motion detection supported?
Yes. To use motion detection and receive alerts, arm your Blink system and turn on motion detection for your camera in the Blink app.
Once activated, the camera features a detection range up to 33 feet (10 m), motion alerts sent to your phone, and adjustable sensitivity settings (9 levels, default at 6) via the Blink app.
For information on where motion clips are stored, see What video storage options are available? under Storage & subscriptions below.
What types of smart detection are supported?
With a Blink Subscription Plan (sold separately) or trial, your Spotlight 2K+ can identify two types of motion:
- Person detection: Automatically identifies when a person triggers motion, helping you focus on important activity while reducing unwanted alerts.
- Vehicle detection: Recognizes vehicles in motion, helping you track car activity while reducing unnecessary alerts from other movement.
View and manage these alerts directly in the Blink app.
Does Spotlight 2K+ support two-way audio?
Yes. You can listen and talk through the camera using the Blink app (tap-to-talk). Spotlight 2K+ features two-way audio with noise cancellation for clear conversations.
Note: Two-way talk is temporarily disabled while the siren is active. See the siren section above for details.
