Do I need a Blink Subscription Plan for media storage?

If you had an account on or before April 15, 2020, media storage for your Mini 2 operates like the other camera systems you already have. Otherwise, you can subscribe to a Blink Subscription Plan for 60-day unlimited cloud storage or use Local Storage.

Is Mini 2 weather resistant for outdoor use?

Mini 2 has an IP65 rating and can be safely placed outdoors when plugged into Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter (sold separately), within operating temperatures of -20° to 45°C (-5°F to 113°F).

Does Mini 2 require a Sync Module to work?

No, Mini 2 just requires 5 volt, 1amp, standard USB power through the included adapter or a Weather Resistant Power Adapter for outdoor use (sold separately), and an always-on Wi-Fi internet connection. Mini 2 does not need a Sync Module, but is compatible with one. Adding Mini 2 to an existing system with a Sync Module and USB power adapter also allows for shared scheduling and Local Storage.

Can I extend my Live View sessions since Mini 2 is powered by a USB cable?

Yes. Blink Subscription Plans enable many premium features including Extended Live View - exclusively for Blink Mini cameras. Extended Live View provides images and sound directly from a Mini 2 to the Blink app for 90 minutes with a single tap. Live View sessions with a subscription plan are by default five minutes long.

When your Mini 2 camera is not part of a Blink Subscription Plan, the Live View sessions are by default 60 seconds long. They can be extended to five minutes by tapping Continue when it appears every 60 seconds. When using an Alexa compatible device, the Live View session is five minutes by default.
