Why am I receiving motion alerts from inactive Activity Zones?

While you may have selected certain areas using Activity Zones to avoid triggering the camera, environmental factors, like changes in lighting (e.g. car headlights), trees or bushes moving in the wind, and shifting shadows throughout the day can cause pixel changes outside your inactive zones, triggering alerts.

To minimise false triggers:

  • Adjust the camera angle.
  • Consider seasonal changes in vegetation and lighting.
  • Regularly update your Activity Zones photo to accurately select the areas you don’t want the camera to detect motion in.
